Marvel Studios has finally released the first full-length trailer for director Joss Whedon‘s epic superhero adventure The Avengers and this way too long to watch this film.


Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel’s The Avengers is the super hero team-up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963, Marvel’s The Avengers brings together the mightiest super hero characters as they all assemble together onscreen for the first time.








The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgard. The Avengers is of course written and directed by Joss Whedon, opening in theaters on May 4, 2012.

A New York bike messenger is given an envelope by a young woman at an uptown Manhattan college and is told he has 90 minutes to deliver it to an address in Chinatown. Complications ensue when an undercover police office appears and demands the envelope on special grounds.
The truth, hidden motivations, and the life-and-death stakes on all sides are revealed through a series of flashbacks as the cop and the messenger engage in a length-of-Manhattan chase, racing against time after the messenger discovers the precious nature of the envelope’s slender contents.

Drive

Drive is an adaptation of the James Sallis novel of the same name. Refn directed the whole thing from a screenplay by Hossein Amini and the movie has an awesome cast on board: Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Albert Brooks, Oscar Isaac, Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks and Ron Perlman.

Driver (Ryan Gosling) is a stunt driver by day and a getaway driver by night. Doesn’t matter what job he does, Driver is most comfortable behind the wheel of a car. Shannon (Bryan Cranston) is part mentor, part manager for Driver. Since he knows what a great talent Driver is behind the wheel, he either peddles him to film and television directors in the entertainment business or thieves who need an accomplished getaway driver, taking a cut for his own pockets. Always looking to make a buck, Shannon’s current plan is funding a stock car that Driver can race on the professional circuit.



Since Bernie Rose (Albert Brooks) is the wealthiest guy he knows, even if the sources of his money are questionable, Shannon proposes he be their investor. After seeing Driver in action at the speedway, Bernie Rose insists Nino (Ron Perlman) partners with them as well. Primarily a loner and ambivalent about the deals Shannon makes for him, Driver’s world changes the day he shares an elevator ride at his apartment building with Irene (Carey Mulligan). When he sees her again at the grocery store with her young son, Benicio (Kaden Leos), he is transfixed, and willingly offers help when they are stranded in the parking lot because Irene’s car won’t start.




Soon Driver settles into a routine of driving Irene to her waitress job and watching Benicio, entangled in their lives while her car is fixed. This interlude in Driver’s life abruptly stops when Standard (Oscar Isaac), Irene’s husband, is let out early from prison for good behavior.

Even though nothing has happened between Driver and Irene, Standard is threatened by another man’s presence in his family’s life. Driver backs off, respectful of Irene’s desire to keep her family together, but when he finds Standard bloodied and lying in the garage with a scared Benicio standing next to his father, Driver is embroiled even further in Irene’s life. Then trouble begins…

What do you want from Nolan next year?

What you will watch on this time next year, I dun really know how about what will be in your list but for me this must be The Dark Knight Rises.

Christian Bale returns as Bruce Wayne, alongside returning cast members Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, and Nester Carbonell. Anne Hathway plays Selina Kyle (Catwoman), Joseph Gordon-Levitt is John Blake, Marion Cotillard is Miranda Tate, Tom Hardy is Bane, and Josh Pence plays a young Ra’s al Ghul, plus Juno Temple, Matthew Modine, and a potential surprise cameo.

The screenplay for “The Dark Knight Rises” is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is being produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster “The Dark Knight.” The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. “The Dark Knight” is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn

Steven Spielberg’s highly anticipated The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, featuring Tintin (Jamie Bell) and his faithful terrier Snowy (Mike Patton).

The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn is the first in the series of 3D motion capture films based on the iconic character created by the Belgian artist Georges Rémi, better known to the world by his pen name Herge.

The film will depict Tintin’s (Jamie Bell) first encounter with Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) and the discovery of a clue to the treasure of his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock. They set out to find it with protection from a prison escapee who tried to get the treasure as well as Detectives Thomson (Nick Frost) and Thompson (Simon Pegg).

The screenplay was penned by Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Joe Cornish (Ant-Man) and Steven Moffat (Doctor Who), produced by Peter Jackson and co-stars Daniel Craig as Red Rackham, Toby Jones as Silk, Mackenzie Crook as Ernie, Tony Curran as Lt. Delcourt, Cary Elwes as Pilot and Gad Elmaleh as Ben Salaad.

Created using 3D motion capture technology, The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn comes to theaters December 23rd, 2011.

Mission Impossible 4 new trailer

The first trailer of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the fourth movie in the M:I series starring Tom Cruise, has finally been released thanks to Paramount Pictures.

This is not just another mission. The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt and his rogue new team must go undercover to clear their organization’s name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this.




Returning to the franchise are Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames, also starring Paula Patton as a female operative, Vladimir Mashkov (Behind Enemy Lines) as a Russian agent, Josh Holloway plays a member of the Impossible Mission Force led by Ethan Hunt, and Jeremy Renner plays just as big a role as Cruise because there won’t be a team of agents, but two leads, played by Cruise and Renner. Michael Nyqvist, the actor seen in the Swedish adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, will play the calculating villain

Director Brad Bird led the helming duties based on a script by Josh Applebaum & Andre Nemec, based on a story that J.J. Abrams wrote with them. The film is produced by J.J. Abrams.

MI4 will be opened on theaters on 12 December 2011.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

The film is David Fincher‘s new big budget adaptation of Stieg Larsson‘s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”

In the U.S. version, Rooney Mara (who co-starred in Fincher’s “The Social Network” last year) plays Lisbeth, the heroine of the title, while Daniel Craig plays the role of her partner/lover Mikael. In the popular 2009 Swedish version, they were played by Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist. In the poster, Mara looks just about identical to Rapace’s version of the character.

“The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo” finds a crusading journalist, Mikhail Blomkvist (Craig), facing jail time after losing a libel case. He gets a second chance when a reclusive billionaire (Christopher Plummer) recruits him to uncover the truth about this granddaughter’s sudden disappearance four decades ago. Blomkvist is aided in his search by an introverted and uniquely gifted Lisbeth Salander (Mara), a punk-rock computer hacker.

Fincher led the production, based on a screenplay by Steve Zaillian. Also stars Robin Wright (“Unbreakable”) as Erika Berger, Stellan Skarsgard (“Thor”) as Martin Vanger and Christopher Plummer (“The Sound of Music”) as Henrik Vanger.

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is in theaters December 21, 2011.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Set in present-day San Francisco, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” reveals the origins of a war that ultimately led to a global apocalypse – and to Earth becoming the Planet of the Apes. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is taking on its most ambitious challenge, creating for the first time a non-human CGI character that delivers a dramatic performance with real emotion and intelligence.

The film stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo and Andy Serkis as Caesar.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes” hits theaters on August 5.

One Day

Adapted from the internationally praised bestselling novel, “One Day” charts an extraordinary relationship. The Descendants

The film, which stars George Clooney, is described as a sometimes humorous, sometimes poignant journey for Matt King (Clooney) an indifferent husband and father of two girls, who is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future when his wife suffers a boating accident off of Waikiki. The event leads to a rapprochement with his young daughters while Matt wrestles with a decision to sell the family’s land handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries.

Co-starring in the film are Matthew Lillard, Mary Birdsong, Nick Krause, Shailene Woodley, Judy Greer, Beau Bridges and Robert Forster.

Fox Searchlight is set to release “The Descendants”, Alexander Payne’s first feature directorial outing since Oscar-winning “Sideways” in 2004, on December 16, 2011.
