The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

The film is David Fincher‘s new big budget adaptation of Stieg Larsson‘s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”

In the U.S. version, Rooney Mara (who co-starred in Fincher’s “The Social Network” last year) plays Lisbeth, the heroine of the title, while Daniel Craig plays the role of her partner/lover Mikael. In the popular 2009 Swedish version, they were played by Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist. In the poster, Mara looks just about identical to Rapace’s version of the character.

“The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo” finds a crusading journalist, Mikhail Blomkvist (Craig), facing jail time after losing a libel case. He gets a second chance when a reclusive billionaire (Christopher Plummer) recruits him to uncover the truth about this granddaughter’s sudden disappearance four decades ago. Blomkvist is aided in his search by an introverted and uniquely gifted Lisbeth Salander (Mara), a punk-rock computer hacker.

Fincher led the production, based on a screenplay by Steve Zaillian. Also stars Robin Wright (“Unbreakable”) as Erika Berger, Stellan Skarsgard (“Thor”) as Martin Vanger and Christopher Plummer (“The Sound of Music”) as Henrik Vanger.

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is in theaters December 21, 2011.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Set in present-day San Francisco, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” reveals the origins of a war that ultimately led to a global apocalypse – and to Earth becoming the Planet of the Apes. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is taking on its most ambitious challenge, creating for the first time a non-human CGI character that delivers a dramatic performance with real emotion and intelligence.

The film stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo and Andy Serkis as Caesar.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes” hits theaters on August 5.

X-Men: First Class Soundtrack [2011]

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom Soundtrack [2011]

Po is now living his dream as The Dragon Warior, protecting the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, The Furious Five – Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey.

But Po’s new life of awesomeness is threatened by the emergence of a formidable villain, who plans to use a secret, unstoppable weapon to conquer China and destroy kung fu. It is up to Po and The Furious Five to journey across China to face this threat and vanquish it. But how can Po stop a weapon that can stop kung fu?

He must look to his past and uncover the secrets of his mysterious origins; only then will he be able to unlock the strength he needs to succeed.

The sequel to Kung Fu Panda will once again star Jack Black (Po), Angelina Jolie (Tigress) and other original cast members: Dustin Hoffman (Shifu), Jackie Chan (Monkey), Seth Rogen (Mantis), Lucy Liu (Viper) and David Cross (Crane).

As we already know Kung Fu Panda 2 will also star Gary Oldman, Jean Claude Van Damme, Michelle Yeoh and Victor Garber.

Oldman voices the character of Lord Shen (a peacock), the film’s formidable new villain while Yeoh brings to life the mystical character of The Soothsayer (a goat). Van Damme and Garber round out the cast as Master Croc and Master Thundering Rhino.

The movie will be directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson, head of story on Kung Fu Panda from the script by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger.

So, this new 3D project, or a sequel to the 2008 film, Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom hit theaters on 26 May 2011.

Kungfu Panda delivered a solid story, with compelling characters, top rate voice actors, and stunning visuals. And then there was Hans Zimmer and John Powell’s epic score, which was ripe with both top-drawer action cues and emotionally memorable themes.

Even this soundtrack you still meet some cover songs from Kung Fu Panda but this still much much much better than Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides which should not be remix too much.

One Day
