Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadow Soundtrack [2011]

http://i.lulzimg.com/a312e500c8.jpg
The new film is the sequel to the 2009 Guy Ritchie-directed adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous characters starring Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as his faithful sidekick Watson.

The next adventure also stars Noomi Rapace, Jared Harris, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Fry and Rachel McAdams.

Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) has always been the smartest man in the room…until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large-Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris)-and not only is he Holmes’ intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective. When the Crown Prince of Austria is found dead, the evidence, as construed by Inspector Lestrade (Eddie Marsan), points to suicide. But Sherlock Holmes deduces that the prince has been the victim of murder-a murder that is only one piece of a larger and much more portentous puzzle, designed by Professor Moriarty. The cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead of Holmes as he spins a web of death and destruction-all part of a greater plan that, if he succeeds, will change the course of history.

As we known long time ago this film music was composed by Hans Zimmer and his remote control. I'm not spoiler here but this soundtrack first some tracks are too dark for my imagination for this film. On the middle kind like comedy music and wwooooo still there some of these tracks are taken materials from Pirate of the Caribbean tunes. Check out by yourself.

Cello Wars The Phantom Cellist

http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/5604/cellowars3.jpg
Even you are not a Star Wars fan like me but if you really love George Lucas and John Williams this video clip should not be miss. Steven Sharp Nelson do it well with his light blazing bows.

http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/3061/cellowars2.jpg
According to the available text, it took more than a month of preparation and shooting to complete the video, where two Jedi are unleashing their musical prowess with…lightsaber bows. Might have been cooler if Tiefighters and X Wings were blasting each othe rin the background. Oh yeah, Darth Vader makes a cameo appearance.

Enjoy ahaha may the force be with your piano.

If you interested with his work check out his funny face Mr. Bean like in video bellow. Really good cellist.

Arthur Christmas Soundtrack [2011]

The film was directed by Sarah Smith and Barry Cook. James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent, Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, and Ashley Jensen do the voice work on the 3D film, which shows just how Santa is able to pull off Christmas each year.

Set on Christmas night, the story of Arthur Christmas at last reveals the incredible, never-before seen answer to every child’s question: ‘So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?’ The answer: Santa’s exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole. But at the heart of the film is a story with the ingredients of a Christmas classic – a family in a state of comic dysfunction and an unlikely hero, Arthur, with an urgent mission that must be completed before Christmas morning dawns.

http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/1682/arthurchristmasi02.jpg
McAvoy leads the cast as Arthur, the good-natured but clumsy younger son of Santa. Arthur LOVES everything to do with Christmas; indeed, he is the only one in his family still captivated by the magic of the holiday. Laurie will play Arthur’s older brother Steve, heir to the reins, a cool, incredibly capable guy who has given the North Pole high-tech efficiency, military-style precision. Broadbent plays Santa, who pictures himself as the guy in charge at the North Pole, but is now more of a figurehead as the operation has outgrown him. Nighy plays Santa’s 136-year-old father, Grandsanta, a cranky old codger who hates the modern world, is always grumbling that Christmas ‘was better when I was Santa’ and has a tense relationship with Steve, who he calls ‘A postman with a spaceship.’ Jensen will play Bryony, a lowly elf from the Giftwrap Battalion, with an eager-to-please attitude and an obsession with wrapping and bows. Imelda Staunton rounds out the cast as Mrs. Santa, dedicated wife and mother to her husband and sons.

The Great Train Robbery Score [1979-2011]

World premiere release of complete soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith for Michael Crichton 1979 period action tale of gold robbery performed aboard moving train, starring Sean Connery, Donald Sutherland, Lesley-Anne Down. Though rumored to have been lost forever, Intrada locates complete 1/4" two-track stereo session masters made by Eric Tomlinson during London recording sessions, maintained in beautiful condition courtesy MGM. This enables first-ever release of numerous cues including all-important action cue "Dead Willy", where frenzied string rhythms, powerful trombone figures provide score with its most ferocious moment. Other new cues offer variants to main theme, additional darker sequences. Goldsmith also recorded all of his classical source pieces during the sessions and we include those as well. His take on Handel's famed "Music For the Royal Fireworks" is dazzling indeed. Several alternates were present on masters, including early take on classic "The Gold Arrives" set piece, this time with central section spotlighting virtuoso trumpet double-tongue passage Goldsmith ultimately toned down for final take. Roaring fun! Bonus CD offers U.S. CD premiere of original 1979 soundtrack assembly as produced by Goldsmith, newly mastered from United Artists album master. Informative notes from Jeff Bond, handsome original campaign art complete exciting package. Jerry Goldsmith conducts National Symphony Orchestra. Nicely-priced 2-CD set is part of Intrada MAF catalog of great film scores!

55 Days at Peking Soundtrack [1963-2011]

La-La Land Records presented an expanded version of a classic score by Dimitri Tiomkin from 1963: 55 Days at Peking.

A dramatization of the Boxer Rebellion in 1900 China, 55 Days at Peking depicts the Battle of Peking from the perspective of a group of foreign diplomats protected by the Chinese government in Peking’s legations district. Charlton Heston stars as an American major defending the ambassadors, and David Niven and Ava Gardner play British and Russian dignitaries, the latter of whom engages in an affair with Heston’s major.

One of the last regular directing credits by Nicholas Ray, director of Rebel Without a Cause, Peking boasts an Oscar-nominated score that’s classic Tiomkin, all muscular action interspersed with descriptive romantic themes at times. The music of 55 Days at Peking received two Oscar nominations, one for the general score and one for Best Song, the end title theme “So Little Time,” performed for the film by Andy Williams. The film was also prestigious enough in its day to warrant an album release on vinyl at the time.

http://media.tiff.net/contents/stills/55-Days-at-Peking.jpg

Now, La-La Land greatly expands that album presentation on a lavish two-disc set, featuring nearly all of the score in stereo (with a few cues in mono), as well as several mono bonus tracks released on original singles or intended for EP releases. The set, featuring a 24-page booklet including liner notes from film score writer Mark K. DeWald, is limited to 2,000 copies and can be ordered here. As always, the track list is after the jump!

Wolfen Soundtrack [1981-2011]

Early James Horner soundtrack for sensational Michael Wadleigh horror thriller finally gets released! Riveting tale stars Albert Finney as detective on trail of serial killer which turns out to be not human! James Horner creates intense, exciting score, introduces numerous musical devices that become trademarks, including magnificent fortissimo punching motif played by low trombones, tuba in octaves. Every note of score recorded by Horner is included, mixed and mastered from mint-condition complete 1/2" three-track stereo session masters courtesy Warner Bros. Incredibly crisp audio details unusually complex string passages, ferocious brass performances. In balance are several delicate passages featuring piano. Actual film seamlessly tracks music from (slightly) earlier Horner picture THE HAND due to additional scoring needs. Though that music was not available for this release, entire score Horner did compose for WOLFEN is here, including pair of alternates not used in finished film. Entire production was supervised by the composer. James Horner conducts. Intrada Special Collection release available while interest and quantities remain!
