Get The Gringo Soundtrack [2012]

Mel Gibson’s action-comedy film Get the Gringo. Previously titled How I Spent My Summer Vacation, the story sees Gibson take on the role of ‘Driver’, a criminal who learns to survive in a Mexican prison with the help of a 10-year-old boy.
The story of Driver, a career criminal who is picked up by the Mexican police as he desperately tries to cross the border in a car stuffed full of stolen cash. The police take the cash and dump him in the infamous El Pueblito prison – a hell on earth where the prison gangs run the show. Driver has no ID or fingerprints but he still gets a visit from a corrupt American Embassy official who has heard about the money. If Driver doesn’t find a way of paying him off while he’s inside, then he’s going to let the authorities know where Driver is. And it won’t be long before the guys he stole the money from find him too.
Driver knows it is sink or swim. He hooks up with a young boy who shows him how to survive in the prison, but the kid has a terrible secret. He shares a rare blood type with Javi – the criminal who ruthlessly controls the prison and everyone in it. The kid is Javi’s life insurance policy and he has doctors on standby to transplant his liver whenever the time comes. But Driver has other ideas and pretty soon he devises an audacious plan to escape with the kid, the kid’s mother and the money.
The film is directed by Adrian Grunberg, a first assistant director (Jarhead, Apocalypto) making his feature debut.

Cosmopolis Soundtrack [2012]

The film is directed by David Cronenberg, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Don DeLillo, author of the novel on which the film is based.

Robert Pattinson will tackle the role of Eric Packer, a 28-year-old billionaire asset manager who bets – and bets big – against the yen on a tumultuous day in the stock market.

New York City, not-too-distant-future: Eric Packer, a 28 year-old finance golden boy dreaming of living in a civilization ahead of this one, watches a dark shadow cast over the firmament of the Wall Street galaxy, of which he is the uncontested king. As he is chauffeured across midtown Manhattan to get a haircut at his father’s old barber, his anxious eyes are glued to the yuan’s exchange rate: it is mounting against all expectations, destroying Eric’s bet against it. Eric Packer is losing his empire with every tick of the clock. Meanwhile, an eruption of wild activity unfolds in the city’s streets. Petrified as the threats of the real world infringe upon his cloud of virtual convictions, his paranoia intensifies during the course of his 24-hour cross-town odyssey. Packer starts to piece together clues that lead him to a most terrifying secret: his imminent assassination.

Joining Robert Pattinson in the cast ensemble are Juliette Binoche, Sarah Gadon, Paul Giamatti, Samantha Morton, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel.

Cosmopolis premieres in Portugal on May 31st, Russia on June 14th, 2012. U.S. release date is still to be decided.
The soundtrack for Cosmopolis reunites composer Howard Shore and the band METRIC for another cinematic collaboration. While writing the score for David Cronenberg’s film adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel Cosmopolis, Shore conceived of a particular live sound to achieve his vision and invited METRIC to perform the score and co-write three songs. The music was recorded in November 2011 at the band’s own Giant Studios in Toronto, produced by Howard Shore and METRIC guitarist Jimmy Shaw, and mixed by John O’Mahony at Liberty Studios in Toronto and Electric Lady Studios in NYC. The result is an atmospheric, urban soundscape of analog synths and layered guitars featuring the hypnotic vocals of METRIC lead singer Emily Haines. The Cosmopolis soundtrack also features “Mecca” by Somali Singer/Rapper K’NAAN with lyrics by the artist and Don DeLillo.

Once Upon A Time Score [2012]

d3f8b ec771ec7d1 Once Upon A Time Mark Isham (OST) (2012) [FLAC]
Intrada announces the release of Mark Isham's score to the hit ABC TV series Once Upon a Time that premiered last fall. Isham needed to come up with a score that spanned the entire spectrum of emotions -- not only breathing life into quieter moments, but also being romantic, sweeping, and epic. The result was a score for the series that is both beautiful and heartfelt and has become integral to the fabric of the show.

For this release representing music from various episodes, Mark Isham has compiled over an hour of music carefully produced to provide listeners with a musical journey that captures the essence of the show. This release also features five different collectible covers, but the contents of all discs remain the same.

The show focuses on Emma Swan, whose life has been anything but a fairytale. A 28-year-old bail bondsperson, she’s been taking care of herself since she was abandoned as a baby. But when Henry —the son she gave up 10 years ago—finds her, everything changes. Henry is desperate for his mom’s help and thinks that Emma is actually the long, lost daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. Even stranger, Henry believes that Storybrooke, the sleepy New England town he calls home, is really part of a curse cast by the Evil Queen, freezing fairytale characters in the modern world with no memory of their former selves. Of course the seen-it-all Emma doesn’t believe a word, but when she gets to Storybrooke, she can’t help sensing that everything’s not quite what it seems...

Prometheus Soundtrack [2012]

Prometheus is Ridley Scott‘s return to the world he created in 1979′s Alien featuring a team of explorers discovering a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
sci-fi horror film Prometheus, which stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba and Charlize Theron. The film opens in the US on June 8th, 2012.

German-born musician Marc Streitenfeld, jointed with Harry Gresgson-Williams, has composed the score for Prometheus. Streitenfeld has worked with Scott for the past six years or so starting with A Good Year. Can anybody remember the score for that film? Everybody is pretty much hoping Prometheus is Ridley Scott’s glorious return to sci-fi. After all, Alien and Blade Runner are modern classics which helped re-boot the genre to some extent. Jerry Goldsmith’s original Alien score was pretty wonderful with its soft drones and ethereal string arrangements so Streitenfeld has got some pretty darn big boots to fill.
